BOONE, Iowa—Boone County authorities report that a 59-year old Boone man has died as a result of serious injuries sustained when the motorcycle he was operating collided with a deer north of Ridgeport in Boone County about 8:00 p.m. Monday. Brian Claussen was traveling on Nature Road when the accident occurred. Claussen was flown by Life Flight from the scene to a hospital in Des Moines where he passed away. The Boone County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Boone Police Department, Boone Fire Department and Boone County Ambulance.
