The Boone High School Student Council is wrapping up its third year of doing “Christmas in a Box”. The students receive information on eight to nine families that could use a boost during this holiday season. Advisor Shannon Lumley says the students work very hard to make this happen, “They stationed themselves outside of three stores on Saturday and Sunday, handing out fliers to customers. Most of the donations we received came on those two days. The students understand the culture of a town like Boone and are enjoying the opportunity to give back. They are seeing such a climate of giving and hope through this drive.”
