Boone Community Theatre Presents Sabrina Fair

Posted on 03 February 2020 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—Boone Community Theatre will present Sabrina Fair by Samuel Taylor on Feb. 14, 15, 21 and 22 at the First Evangelical Church in Boone.  All shows will be at 7 pm, except for Feb. 22 which will be a 2 pm matinee.

The romantic comedy play features Dana Kokjohn of Boone as Sabrina Fairchild, daughter of the wealthy Larrabee family’s chauffeur.  When Sabrina returns to the Larrabee estate after working abroad, Linus Larrabee Jr. (played by Todd Reed of Boone) plots to encourage his younger brother (played by Gershom Levi of Ogden) to fall in love with her.  Meanwhile a suitor from France (played by Jareth Cross of Boone) follows Sabrina to the United States to also declare his love.

Sabrina Fair is a type of Cinderella story set in 1950’s Long Island.  Audience members may have seen the 1954 and 1995 film adaptations titled “Sabrina,” with Audrey Hepburn and later Julia Ormond in the starring role.

“I am pleased to see the chemistry that this cast has had from the start!” said Pamela Webster, Director.  “From the first read-through these actors have made Sabrina Fair a delightful production.  I expect our audiences will really enjoy this light-hearted and romantic story.”
