According to Boone County Emergency Management Director Lance Kooiker, the public is asked to help provide personal protective equipment (PPE) for health care providers.
In taking the lead on coordinating donations, Boone County Emergency Management can be in daily contact with providers, and distribute donated items to areas of critical need.
What is needed at this time:
- N-95 masks,
- procedure/surgical masks,
- face shields,
- gowns/coveralls, and
- gloves
There has been a community effort underway to sew protective masks. These items may be dropped off at the Boone County Emergency Management Office a 909 West Mamie Eisenhower Ave in Boone, between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm. It is recommended you call the office first at 515-433-0592 to ensure someone is there to receive your donation.
