Boone Parks equipment and shelters off limits

Posted on 02 April 2020 by KWBG

BOONE, IA -Boone City Parks and trails are open to the public for recreation but due to COVID-19, playground equipment and shelter houses are closed until further notice. All park restrooms remain closed and water fountains are turned off.

The horseshoe pitching courts, skate park, dog park, disc golf, along with the tennis, pickleball, sand volleyball, softball/baseball and basketball courts will remain open at this time. Team sports, pickup games and contact play are prohibited. The City will not install caution tape or fencing at the parks; residents are asked to do their part to keep our family, friends, neighbors and community safe.

Signage will be posted at each park regarding the closure. We appreciate your help in flattening the curve and practicing social distancing during this unprecedented time.

If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact the Boone City Parks Commission anytime: https://www.boonegov.com/department/board.php?structureid=36
