BOONE, Iowa—Boone Mayor John Slight did a remote proclamation for the recognition of Arbor Day for Boone and the Parks Department did the ceremonial planting of a tree for Arbor Day which will keep the city in the running for Tree City USA recognition for 2020. Because of the current coronavirus restrictions, a couple of city staffers handled the event.
