LifeServe Community Blood Drive in Boone Monday

Posted on 09 May 2020 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The LifeServe Blood Center will hold a one-day community blood drive in Boone, Monday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Central Christian Church, 803 Greene Street.  Due to the coronavirus pandemic, LifeServe requires appointments to be made.  Walk-in donations will not be accepted.  By using appointments, LifeServe is able to control the number of donors in the building.

When the coronavirus pandemic restrictions were put into affect, LifeServe lost several blood drives at schools and businesses.  At the same time, the need has not declined.  There is no substitute for blood and certain hospital patients-those battling cancer, trauma victims, premature babies, mothers during or after delivery-cannot reschedule their need for a live saving transfusion.

Appointments may still be made on line at lifeservebloodcenter.org or by calling 800-287-4903.
