On Sunday, the Iowa Department of Public Health identified 323 new cases of coronavirus in our state, an increase from the 279 COVID-19 cases reported on Saturday. Iowa has now had 14,651 cases of coronavirus, which have resulted in 351 deaths: 10 in Saturday’s update and 5 on Sunday, with one new fatality each in Polk and Dallas Counties. In central Iowa from Saturday to Sunday, 77 new cases of COVID-19 were identified in Polk County for a total of 2,922, 3 in Dallas for 776, and 1 in Boone County for 42 overall. The Story County total remains at 75, in Webster and Greene there have been 13 cases apiece, and Hamilton County holds steady with 11. Statewide, 33 coronavirus patients were admitted in the last twenty-four hours and that number is up a little from the 31 additional Iowans who were hospitalized on Saturday.
