BOONE, Iowa—A Black Lives Matters demonstration in Boone Monday evening drew and estimated two-hundred participants that held a peaceful march from downtown Boone on Story Street to Mamie Eisenhower Avenue to Carroll Street, back to Mamie’s Birthplace to Eighth Street and back to 8th and Story. Marchers were staying on the sidewalk during their march and many carried signs. Several businesses had water available for marchers due to the warm weather, including the Boone Police Department. At this time, there were no reports of any problems except for the crowd have some difficulty hearing the speakers as the event got underway.
