Boone County Supervisors Complete Canvass of Election Results

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Board of Supervisors completed the canvas of last Tuesday Primary Election results.  Last week the unofficial results had a total of 4,666 votes reported, but there were about 600 absentee ballots that had not been counted.  The final canvas had 4,791 votes cast, including absentee ballots.  There were 2,278 Republican ballots and 2,513 Democratic ballots.

The closest contested race at the local level was the Democratic race for Supervisor.  Jim Uthe held the lead among four candidates and picked up another 40 votes, while Philippe Meier led Brian Reimers by 15 votes for the second position on the general election ballot.  Each picked up 30 additional votes.
