BOONE, Iowa—It’s been a busy past couple of month for those pushing to complete work on the Boone County Freedom Rock, located on the northwest corner of the grounds of the Boone County Courthouse. The final touches, lighting, flag poles and flags and benches wrapped up the landscaping. Obviously getting the grass to grow will take some rain. If you have time, take a moment and stop to see what’s been done. Handicapped accessibility is available from the Courthouse side of the display. An official dedication is being planned.
For those interested in still providing support for the site and or wishing to sponsor a paver, information is still available at boonecountyfreedomrock.com. All donations are handled through the Boone Parks Foundation for tax deductible eligibility.
