BOONE, Iowa—The U.S. Drought Monitor this week shows an increase in the drought intensity locally as of September 1st. Over 14% of the state is consider to be in Extreme Drought which results in major crop and pasture losses and widespread water shortages. Boone has not taken any steps for water restrictions, but others are starting to consider the impact.
