DCI Joins Boone County Sheriff’s Department’s Death Investigation

BOONE, Iowa—Boone County Sheriff Gregg Elsberry said today that the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation has been called in to assist his department with a death investigation.  Elsberry says his department learned that a Boone County farmer had discovered the body of a deceased male in his field Sunday morning.  Boone County Detectives Andy Godzicki and Brian Pontius responded to the call and were assisted by Boone County Search and Rescue.  Elsberry reported today that the investigation is ongoing and additional information is not being released at this time.
