Sheriff’s Department Idenitifies Body Found on the High Trestle Trail

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Sheriff’s Department released information Monday about a body discovered at the High Trestle Trail Bridge over the weekend.  In a release on the Sheriff’s Department Facebook page, it was reported that Saturday, November 14th, a person called the Boone County 911 Communication Center to report a body underneath the High Trestle Trail Bridge. Multiple Deputies responded, including Deputy Adam Quinn, Sergeant Dallas Wingate, Detective Andy Godzicki and the Iowa DCI. Upon further investigation, the body discovered, had fallen from the bridge. It is unknown at this time if this is a deliberate act of suicide, accidental, or other.

The deceased has been identified as Michael English, 21, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was pronounced dead at the scene. This case remains under investigation.
Boone County Medical Examiner, Boone County Hospital, Boone County Conservation, Boone County Search and Rescue, and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation assisted at the scene. Iowa State University Police also assisted with the investigation.
