BOONE, Iowa—VisionBank, a longtime supporter of Heart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity, recently donated $1,000 to assist Habitat for Humanity and its mission to eliminate poverty housing. Fundraising during a pandemic has brought significant challenges to our organization, so we truly cherish the generous donation.
Lindsay Lynch, Habitat’s Associate Director, shares, “We genuinely appreciate the donation and recognize all VisionBank does for our organization and the community.”
VisionBank’s donation, matched with funds raised during our Nativity Festival Soup Supper on Sunday, December 6th, will help us complete our 2020 home build at 1409 Marshall Street, Boone. An outpouring of local support has made a major impact on our 2020 partner family, the Smelcer-Miller’s. Due to the support, a very deserving family will be moving into a safe, affordable home just in time for the holidays.
VisionBank’s hope is to help community service organizations implement and continue programs and projects that will improve the quality of life for our community at large. First and foremost, VisionBank is a community bank.
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, Christian organization dedicated to eliminating substandard and poverty housing and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat for Humanity welcomes all persons as partner families regardless of religious beliefs or affiliations.
