BOONE, Iowa—Funeral arrangements are being set for 85 year old Shirley Mae Spencer Anderson of Edina, Minnesota and previously from Boone, Iowa. Shirley passed peacefully in her sleep December 31st, 2020 in Edina, MN with her husband by her side.

Shirley was born to August 30th, 1935 to Lyle and Hazel Thorp Spencer in Waterloo, IA and married Jacob Freeman Anderson in 1954. In their early years, Shirley raised their three sons, Mike, Jeff, and Chuck, while Jake worked for the railroads and the FRA over the years. Together Jake and Shirley achieved their dreams of a winter place in Arizona and a summer lake place in northern Minnesota. During their life together they moved dozens of times, remodeling and building, and each time Shirley would create a beautiful home.

Shirley is survived by her husband, her sons: Michael Anderson (Katrina) of Boone, IA; Jeffrey Anderson (Monica) of Olathe, KS; and Charles Anderson (Laurie) of Edina, MN, seven grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
