BOONE, Iowa—The Boone High School National Honor Society began a one-week food drive Monday and will continue through this Friday, June 15th. This is a class competition. All food should be put in the grade labeled bins just off the commons near Cafe’ Ole. The class with the most food donated will have all students’ names entered into the prize drawings. Prizes include gift certificates to various businesses in town included the bakery, LaCaretta, the Book Shoppe, and more.
Additionally, parents attending the basketball games on Tuesday night can bring donations to the game. There will also be a community drive through drop off on Saturday, January 16th from 8am to noon outside the activities entrance of the high school. All food will be donated to the Toreador Food Pantry and redistributed to BCSD families in need.
