Formal Public Announcement and Sample Ballot for United Community School District Special Election

BOONE, Iowa—This week, Boone County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections, Diane Patrick, released the formal public announcement and sample ballot for the upcoming special election for the United Community School District on March 2nd.

NOTICE OF ELECTION

UNITED COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT

 

Notice is hereby given to the qualified electors of United Community School District, in the County of Boone, the State of Iowa, that a special election of said School District will be held Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021.

A public measure for the issuance of School Infrastructure Sales, Services and Use Tax Revenue Bonds will be voted on.

Precinct Count will be used. Public testing of the precinct count equipment will be held at 9:00am on February 25th at the Boone County Courthouse. A sample ballot is published with this official notice.

The polls will open at 7:00 a.m. and will close at 8:00 p.m. on said day.

Polling places for voters who reside in Boone County will be located at the Community Building, Boone County Fairgrounds, 1601 Industrial Park Road, Boone, and the Luther Community Room, 5 Luther Street, Luther.

(**Please note, for voters who reside in Story County, the polling place will be Perfect Games, 1320 Dickinson Ave., Ames.)

Any voter who is physically unable to enter a polling place has the right to vote in the voter’s vehicle. For further information, please contact the county auditor’s office at 433-0502.

Pre-registered voters are required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before receiving and casting a ballot.

Voters who are not pre-registered will also be required to provide proof of residence.

A voter who cannot provide proof of identification may have their identity attested to by another voter registered in the precinct who has an approved form of identification. For more information about voter ID, visit http://sos.iowa.gov/voterid.

A person who is eligible to register to vote and vote, may register on election day by appearing in person at the polling place for the precinct in which the individual resides. The voter must complete a voter registration application, make written oath and provide acceptable proof of identity and acceptable proof of residence. Acceptable documents which can be used as proof of identity and proof of residence are very specific and substitutes will not be accepted.
