United School District Patrons Easily Approve Financing for Infrastructure Work

Posted on 02 March 2021 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—United School District patrons easily approved allowing the United School District to finance a pretty extensive infrastructure project with the district’s School Infrastructure Sales, Services and Use Tax Revenue Bonds.  Unofficial Boone County results are 92 yes votes to 16 no votes.  The proposal is to use about $2.3 million in Revenue Bonds for the work, including heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical work and additional remodeling.  The board has already received bids for the work.  Repayment of the Revenue Bonds will be with the state provided one-cent sales tax.  Additional proceeds will be used following the district’s Revenue Purpose Statement approved by voters last year.
