Brenda D. Haglund

KWBG 03/19/21

BOONE, Iowa—Funeral arrangements have been set for 63 year old Brenda D. (Clark) Haglund of Boone, Iowa.  She passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at her home.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone. Burial will be at a later date in Linwood Park Cemetery.

Brenda Dolores (Clark) Haglund was born on May 30, 1957 at the Boone County Hospital, the daughter of Rodney and Leona (Strauss) Clark. She attended Boone Public Schools and graduated in the class of 1975.

Brenda worked for her family at Dad & Lad Clothing for many years as a salesperson. She also owned and operated the Only Place Lounge in Ogden.

Brenda was united in marriage with Kent “Henry” Haglund on January 3, 1990 in Las Vegas, NV. The couple had one son, Justin, in 1991. Henry passed away suddenly on June 30, 1992. Once Henry passed, Brenda worked odd jobs here and there but was primarily a stay-at-home mom and caretaker of her grandmother, mother, and father in their elder years.

Brenda was Justin and Brayleigh’s number one supporter! She loved to attend the rodeos to watch them ride. She was a lifelong animal lover, especially her chickens, horses, and dogs. She also found a fawn by itself one day and brought it home with her to raise it and had it trained like the dogs. She also enjoyed time with family and taking Justin mushroom hunting.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kent “Henry”; son, Justin in February; brother, Breck Clark in January; and her brother-in-law, Kevin Haglund. She is survived by her granddaughter, Brayleigh Haglund and her mother, Larissa Petty of Boone; brothers, Brad (Cate) Clark of Boone and Brent (Katie) Clark of Elgin, TX; brothers-in-law, Kriss (Crystal) Haglund of Boone, Karl (Sue) Haglund of Ogden; sister-in-law, Karen (Tom) Crider of Indian Shores, FL; along with many special nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone. Online condolences may be left for Brenda’s family at www.schroedermemorialchapel.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Brenda Haglund Family, C/O Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel, P.O. Box 15, Boone, IA, 50036.
