BOONE, Iowa—James “Jim” Biladeau, age 79 of the Iowa Veterans Home and formerly of Boone, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in rural Boone. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery in rural Boone.
Jim was born on November 3, 1941 in Parshall, ND, the son of Everell “E.G.” and Edith (Erickson) Billadeau. He was raised by his mother, Edith Bushore, and step-father, Marvin Bushore. He graduated from Parshall High School in 1960.
Jim enlisted in the US Army on June 22, 1961. He served during Peace Time during the Vietnam War from which he was honorably discharged on June 11, 1964.
Jim was united in marriage with Lucinda “Cindy” Olson on June 11, 1966 in Newtown, ND. The couple had two children, Jim Jr. and Cory. Family was the light of Jim’s life. He loved his family with 100 percent of his heart, 100 percent of the time; He would do anything for his immediate and extended family at the drop of a hat.
Jim worked as a railroad engineer for the Chicago Northwestern and later the Union Pacific Railroad for over 30 years, retiring in 2003.
Jim was a pathological hobbyist. He was involved in everything you could possibly think of! Just to name a few, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, golfing, painting, gold mining, and model airplanes, along with many other hobbies. He was a member of the of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, E.G. (Marian) Billadeau; mother, Edith (Marvin) Bushore; beloved wife, Cindy, who passed away on August 30, 2017; sister, Renee Billadeau; and brother, Ted Billadeau. He is survived by his sons, Jim (Shelly) Biladeau Jr. of Altoona and Cory (Pam) Biladeau of Sarasota, FL; 3 grandchildren, Alexa, Easton, and Dokken; sisters, Avis (Ronnie) Norby, Dee Garrett, and Dawn Billadeau, all of Anderson, SC, Jeannie (Bob) Backous and Rose (George) Bielfelt all of Boone, Joan (Mark) Anderson of Stratford, and Bette (Tim) Maybee of Madison, WI; brothers, Richard (Peggie) Billadeau of Mt. Airy, NC, William (Fern) Billadeau of Minot, ND, Edwin (Bonnie) Billadeau and Monte (Bonnie) Billadeau all of Parshall, ND, Paul (Donna) Bushore of Norman, OK, Rick (Deb) Bushore of San Diego, CA, Barney (Deb) Bushore of Newton, Mike (Peg) Bushore of Iowa Falls, and Doug (Lori) Bushore of rural Jewell; sisters-in-law, Joan Decker of Seattle, WA, Kristy (Galen) Halvorson of New Town, ND, and Carolyn Mehl of Oak Grove, CA; along with numerous extended family members.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone.
