Phillips Steps Down as Chamber Director

KWBG 04/26/21

BOONE, Iowa—The Board of Directors for the Boone County Chamber of Commerce released a letter with the Chamber’s Weekly Brief, informing the membership that Executive Director Kurt Phillips has resigned.  According to the statement, Phillips submitted his resignation on April 15th.

The following is the statement from the Boone County Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors:

A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAMBER BOARD OF DIRECTORS:

Dear Members,

We are writing to inform you of recent changes in leadership and administration at the Chamber. On Thursday, April 15th, Kurt Phillips, Executive Director, submitted his letter of resignation to the Board of Directors. Kurt filled this role serving the Boone County business community for more than 10 years, and his work to further the mission and outreach of the Chamber during his tenure is greatly appreciated.  We wish him luck in his future endeavors.

In Kurt’s stead the daily responsibilities and logistical organization of the Chamber will be managed by Mike Hammond, with the support of the Board. It is our goal to continue to serve you, as a valued member, despite this change in leadership. With due diligence we are taking this transition as an opportunity to review and improve our operations to ensure that businesses across all the communities in our county are fully supported by the organization.

Please know that we remain committed to boosting, leading, and connecting Boone County.  Your input and insight as a member of the Chamber is extremely valuable to us and we welcome it as we seek to better serve you going forward.  When long-term leadership is established we will keep you informed.  In the meantime, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to forward them to the Executive Committee.  Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

The Boone County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors
