BOONE, Iowa—The Friends of the Ledges secured a grant from Alliant Energy and Trees Forever and were able to secure a number of larger trees that will be planted Saturday afternoon, May 1st.  Andy Bartlett, Manager, Ledges State Park, has said people should bring their families to the playground in the center of the campground. From there everyone will split up and plant trees! There are almost two dozen trees to plant that will help ensure the great shade for everyone to enjoy at campsites for decades to come. Bartlett said, “This is a great legacy project that you and your family can remember each and every time you come back to Ledges.”  Supplies will be provided for digging and planting, but it might not hurt to bring an extra shovel.
