Brenda L. Elsberry

KWBG 05/15/21

BOONE, Iowa—Funeral arrangements are being planned for Brenda L. Elsberry, age 58 of Boone, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Accura of Ogden, with Jesus by her side.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later time.

Brenda Lee Elsberry was born in Boone, IA, on January 24, 1963, the daughter of Larry and Emma (Moiser) Elsberry. She graduated from Ames High School in 1984.

Brenda lived in Boone Iowa with her family Craig and Patricia Elsberry. She enjoyed going camping with all of her family and friends. She especially loved being around the campfire with a good snack (s’mores) and a can of her favorite soda (Pepsi). When she wasn’t out camping you could find Brenda on the dance floor or singing her favorite song “You Ain’t Nothing But A Hound Dog” by Elvis Presley. You could catch her putting together puzzles, doing word searches, and coloring. But her all-time favorite thing was watching tv in cozy pajamas on the couch.

While Brenda didn’t have any children of her own she definitely made up for it with all of her (Great) nieces and nephews. Her eyes would light up and the biggest smile could be found on her face when the kids would come over. It wasn’t just kids that could brighten her day, she loved all animals. You can bet that if Brenda knew you she knew all of your animals and their names. If any dogs or cats are around she would introduce herself to them and make an instant friend.

Brenda had many friends that she met over her years at Genesis Development, there wasn’t a person in town who didn’t know Brenda and was a friend of hers.

She has left a great impact on her family and her friends. She was a caring and kind person . Not saying she was always a happy camper but as long as she had her soda and a snack a bad day could turn around in a flash.

Brenda was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father, Larry Elsberry in 2004; and a nephew, Ronnie Elsberry in 2007.

Brenda is survived by her mother, Emma Moiser of Boone; brothers, Craig (Pat) Elsberry and Roy Elsberry, all of Boone, and Leonard Elsberry of Woodward; sisters, Valerie (Ron) Hughes and Vicky Elsberry, all of Boone; along with numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone. Online condolences may be left to Brenda’s family at www.schroedermemorialchapel.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Craig and Pat Elsberry, 434 2nd Street, Boone, Iowa 50036.
