OGDEN, Iowa—Funeral arrangements are set for 82 year old Gary E. Lindgren of Ogden, Iowa.  He passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at his home.

A come & go – celebration of life visitation will be held Monday, May 24, 2021, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., at Carson ~ Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden.  Graveside services will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Ogden.  Pastor Rick Summerhays will officiate.  For online obituaries & condolences visit: www.carsonstappfuneralhome.com

Gary Earl Lindgren was born on November 30, 1938, in Ogden, Iowa, the son of Earl and Gladys (Johnson) Lindgren.    He attended Ogden schools.

On October 2, 1965, Gary was united in marriage to Donna Tilley in Ogden.

Gary drove truck for Archway Bakery in Boone for 13 years, and then for Fareway for the next 30+ years, retiring in 2000.  In retirement, he continued to drive part-time for Fareway.

Gary was an avid fisherman and also liked to hunt.  In earlier years he raced stock cars starting at the age of 16.  He continued to race I.M.C.A. stock cars, traveling the country for many years.  Gary and Donna loved traveling and spent 15 winters in Port Aransas, Texas, until 2019.  Gary also thoroughly enjoyed his family, grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, LaVerne “Durn” Lindgren.

Among the survivors are his wife, Donna Lindgren of Ogden, IA; children, Jeff (Deb) Lindgren of Ogden, IA, Jim (Kristi) Lindgren of Elk Horn, IA, Vicki (Mark) Allinger of Peyton, CO, and Dan (Carrie) Lindgren of Ankeny, IA; seven grandchildren, Austin and Mason Highland, Valerie Otten, Paige Yoder, Ben Robertson, Sadie, and Kyle Lindgren; eight great-grandchildren, one great-grandchild on the way; and nieces and nephews.

The Carson ~ Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden has been entrusted with these arrangements.
