Posted on 02 June 2021 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Education Endowment Fund recently award a grant check of $18,787.89 to the Boone School District for 2020. The Grant Award for 2020 was delayed because of the pandemic. Awards were detemined in October 2020 and receipts were received near the end of the school year accounting for the presentation delay. The Foundation has already reviewed grant requests submitted for 2021.

The foundation assets continue to increase due to the generosity of the Boone Community and have surpassed $620,000.  Over $575,000 has been distributed to local schools to benefit student education. There are multiple choices people can select to help support the foundations efforts. Jeff Putzier at Boone Bank & Trust Co. noted that BEEF recently updated the donor board that is displayed in the Boone High School gymnasium atrium. He said “There are donors that five every year and deserve recognition for their generosity: we also want to thank those who have included BEEF as part of their estate planning and charitable giving.” Putzier is Treasurer for BEEF and has information for those considering giving.
