Kinsie Zinnel of Boone finishes 7th at Girls State Tennis
Kinsie Zinnel won her 1st round match with Katy Roose of Pella Christian (6-0, 6-3).
Kinsie then faced off against #2 seed Miyako Coffey of CR Xavier (0-6, 0-6).
(Coffey then went on to finish 2nd, losing in the finals to the #1 seed from Columbus
of Waterloo, which went three sets, the third being 6-7 (10), lasting over two and a
half hours.)
Kinsie then played her 3rd round match of the day, beating Maci Sloane of Camanche
(6-1, 6-0)
Kinsie played on Thursday morning, facing off against Catherine Straus of Spirit
Lake/Okoboji losing (1-6, 3-6).
Kinsie then played in the afternoon for 7th place, against Maddie Frey of Creston.
Kinsie won in close match coming back to win (2-6, 7-6(2), 1-0(3)).
Kinsie completed a strong state showing, finishing 7th place in singles, to end her high
school career.
