BOONE, Iowa—Funeral arrangements have been set for 73 year old Donald “Donnie” Grove of Boone, Iowa and formerly of Pilot Mound, Iowa. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, with his family by his side.

A celebration of life, with a dinner served, will be 5:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, June 18, 2021, at the Pilot Mound Community Center.

Donnie was born February 23, 1948, in Jefferson, Iowa, the son of Oren and Edith (King) Grove. He enjoyed watching old westerns, looking for mushrooms, hunting and fishing. Donnie was known for his sense of humor, but most of all he loved being with his family.

Donnie is survived by his wife of 42 years, Karen Grove; son, Donovan (Danielle) Grove; daughter, Rhonda (Troy) Glass; granddaughter, Aubrie Grove; brother, Rich (Phyllis) Grove; nephews, Kim (Eva) Grove, Kevin (Ann) Grove; and a niece, Julie Mertens.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary Grove.
