Ted J. Swanson

BOONE, Iowa—Funeral arrangements are planned for 95 year old Ted J. Swanson of Boone, Iowa and formerly of Ogden, Iowa. He passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Bickford Assisted Living in Burlington, Iowa. Ted has been cremated and a private family graveside service and burial will be held in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.

Ted was born in Ogden on May 31, 1926, the son of William and Myrtle (Stumbo) Swanson. On September 5, 1942, Ted married Betty Brown in Gallatin, Missouri. The couple farmed south of Ogden and owned the Lion’s Den Antique Shop located on their farm. Ted was a World War II Navy Veteran serving overseas. He was very patriotic and a faithful Christian.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Betty. He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Richard Eaton of Coon Rapids, MN, Paula and David Rummerfield of Sherwood, Oregon, and Teddie and Royce Rinehart of Danville, Iowa; as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at 6th and Marshall Streets in Boone and online condolences may be left for Ted’s family at www.schroedermemorialchapel.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Boone County Veterans Council, 815 Keeler Street, Boone, Iowa 50036.
