BCH Holds Personal Hygiene Drive

Posted on 16 August 2021 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—Boone County Hospital held a Personal Hygiene Drive during the month of July. The Hygiene Drive was a service project for the Boone County Human Service Council (HSC). This year’s Drive allowed them to distribute to food pantries and deliver blessing boxes in Boone, Ogden and Madrid.

“I was working with Angi Ellsworth on a project, and Jen Ford is part of the Human Service Council, so they adapted the HSC service project for the Hospital and made it a department competition,” says Jeanette Flynn, YSS/Boone HSC.

The total amount of items received from Boone County Hospital were 896. Boone County Family Medicine (BCFM) South donated 266 items and were the winners of the Big Kahuna gift certificate; ER donated 177 items; Lab/Tech services donated 160 items; and honorable mention went to 4th Floor/Admin, Public Health, BCFM North/Walk-In Clinic, Wound Clinic and Cardiac Rehab.

The drive supports the Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) needs in Boone County.
