DAYTON, Iowa—Lynne Heckman has been involved with the Dayton Rodeo since 2007 when she joined the Serpentine Riders drill team. She performed with the team for eight years and coached the team for four years.
In addition to drill team, she has sung the National Anthem, carried sponsor flags, rode in the parade, and served as secretary of the Celebration Committee. One week after being selected to carry the American Flag for the 2020 rodeo, the rodeo was cancelled due to Covid. Heckman will remain at the flag bearer for the 2021 Celebration in Dayton, Iowa.
