BOONE, Iowa—The “First Thursday” events in Boone were originally planned for the June, July and August.  But, the reception has generated enough interest to schedule events for September and October.  The “First Thursday” this afternoon and evening will feature musical entertainment from Jake Doty, Boone educator.  Doty will be performing on the Greenspace stage from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

The Boone Farmer’s Market will kick off the afternoon and that means Story Street will be closed from 7th to 8th Street, but the closing will be extended to 9th Street to allow other vendors and food trucks.

The “First Thursday” events have been a collaboration of the Boone Farmers’ Market, the Boone Arts Commission, the City of Boone and the Boone County Chamber of Commerce.
