DES MOINES, Iowa—The U.S. Drought Monitor shows improvement in drought conditions across Iowa. As of Tuesday’s release, there were no extreme drought areas. Over 28% of the state is considered to be drought free. 71 percent of the state is still considered abnormally dry. Most of Boone County is considered in moderate drought with severe drought conditions in Story and Marshall Counties and counties to the north.
