DES MOINES, Iowa—The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship has released the most recent fuel prices for Iowa and once again regular unleaded gasoline prices were down 6 cents this week, averaging $3.07 across Iowa.
Crude Oil Summary- The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $3.49 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $71.94.
- Brent crude oil rose $3.71 and currently priced at $75.35.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $40.29 and Brent crude was at $48.84.
Motor Fuels
- As of Wednesday, December 8, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.07 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices fell 6 cents from last week’s price and $1.05 higher than one year ago.
- The national average on Wednesday was $3.34, down 5 cents from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa were down 4 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.36.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $2.29 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is 25 cents less than the national average of $3.61.
- Wholesale ethanol fell 7 cents and is currently priced at $2.14.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.14 for U87-E10, $2.18 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.28 for ULSD#2, $2.53 for ULSD#1, and $2.91 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating Fuels
- Propane prices fell 6 cents with a statewide average of $1.89 per gallon.
- Home heating oil prices fell 22 cents, with a statewide average of $2.72 per gallon.
- Natural gas prices fell 49 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $3.86/MMbtu.
