BOONE, Iowa—As The Salvation Army of Boone nears the finish line of its 2021 Red Kettle Campaign, local leadership is making a final push for donations within the community. This year’s goal has been $31,502.
Donations to Salvation Army red kettles are critically important. Such donations make it possible for The Salvation Army to carry out its mission to serve those in need, both during the holiday season and throughout the rest of the year. The needs funded by these donations range from providing food and utility-bill assistance to breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty and more.
What’s more, donating at red kettles is easier than ever this year. In addition to taking coin and cash donations, red kettles are also equipped to take digital donations via Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. This array of options allows donors to make fast, secure donations online by simply taking out their smartphones and scanning a QR code on a sign posted above the red kettle.
