BOONE, Iowa—Last week, the Boone City Plan and Zoning Commission reviewed and forwarded a recommendation to the Boone City Council to approve the site plan for the Boone Schools Early Childhood Center at 1805 Hancock Drive. At the same time, city staff have been in talks with school personnel to keep updated on the need to extend Hancock Drive to Corporal Snedden Drive to the east. Previously, the Council insisted the road be done before the opening of the school. City Administrator Bill Skare is scheduled to provide the Council with more details on the road project and a possible funding option. The Council has already agreed to provide $750,000 for the road construction.
