DES MOINES, Iowa—The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship conducts the weekly fuel report and this week reported that regular unleaded gasoline prices in Iowa were up 7 cents with a statewide average of $3.29.
Crude Oil Summary- The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $1.85 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $89.77.
- Brent crude oil rose $2.47 and currently priced at $91.36.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $58.36 and Brent crude was at $60.74.
Motor Fuels
- As of Wednesday, February 9, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.29 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices rose 7 cents from last week’s price and 90 cents higher than one year ago.
- The national average on Wednesday was $3.47, up 7 cents from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa were up 8 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.65.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $2.60 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is 20 cents less than the national average of $3.85.
- Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.43 for U87-E10, $2.72 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.77 for ULSD#2, $3.04 for ULSD#1, and $2.23 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating Fuels
- Propane prices were up 5 cents with a statewide average of $1.98 per gallon.
- Home heating oil prices rose 9 cents, with a statewide average of $3.35 per gallon.
- Natural gas prices fell $1.32 at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $4.04/MMbtu.
