BCH Addresses Food Insecurity

Posted on 15 February 2022 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—Boone County Hospital (BCH) recently collaborated with other organizations in the Boone community to help address food insecurity.  Grant money was awarded to BCH to address Social Determinants in Health in the community.  Last fall, BCH purchased refrigerator/freezers for Ogden Community Food Pantry, IMPACT Community Action, Salvation Army, and the YSS Lighthouse.  In addition to the refrigerator/freezers, BCH was also able to purchase new flooring for the Salvation Army where they store the food, shopping carts, and cart covers for Impact Community Action.  We were grateful for the $9,500 in grant money for all of the items.
