Jane Elizabeth Beers

KWBG 02/24/22

BOONE, Iowa—Jane Elizabeth Beers, middle daughter of Bernard and Joyce “Lang” Baldwin, was born on June 8th, 1967. She was a delight from the beginning, even though she reached a point where she wouldn’t suck a pacifier unless it was dipped in honey. From a sweet little red-headed girl to a sassy little red-headed lady, like a gently burning flame.  She was a free spirit with a wild heart.

Jane graduated from Boone High School in 1985 and received an Associate degree in Business from DMACC in Boone. She took some time off of school to move out of state with her then long time boyfriend, Brian Beers, who she later married, shared three children with, and divorced.

As a young mom to two little children at the time, she went back to school to follow her dreams of becoming a nurse. With a lot of determination and dedication, she graduated from St. Catherin’s University School of Nursing, with a Bachelors of Science Degree. Following graduation, she began her career as a registered nurse at Park Nicollet Urgent Care, where she spent most of her nursing career. She was a leader, highly looked up to amongst her colleagues, and an excellent nurse. Caring for others was her biggest passion in life. Whether it be her patients, her children, her friends, or her family. She was selfless and always put others first.

Jane later had her third and last child in her 30’s. Her life revolved around her kids and she wouldn’t have had it any other way. Her children and their activities kept her busy and she thoroughly enjoyed being a part of them. She was always there to watch her daughter in dance practice, and her sons in hockey and wrestling. She enjoyed planting flowers in the yard, traveling with her family, sharing a good laugh and loving her three grandsons.

You could usually catch Jane with her favorite shade of red lipstick on, a Diet Coke in hand, and twirling her hair. Jane was funny, smart and witty. She was the neighborhood’s “Chatty Cathy” and knew no strangers. Her spunky personality and contagious laugh will truly be missed.

Jane was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Baldwin and sister Jennifer Gilpin. She is survived by her daughter, Mackenzi Perez (Angel), sons Brandon Beers and Logan Beers, her three dearly beloved grandsons Koston, Jasper and Valen Perez, her mother Joyce Baldwin of Boone, sister Anne Baldwin of Ames, Several nieces and nephews and partner David Neubauer.

A time of Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Boone, Thursday, March 10th from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A service will follow at 11:00 a.m. and a luncheon in the Fitzgerald Hall will follow the mass.
