- The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $11.72 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $108.49.
- Brent crude oil rose $6.82 and currently priced at $110.43.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $59.75 and Brent crude was at $63.17.
Motor Fuels
- As of Wednesday, March 2, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.43 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices rose 8 cents from last week’s price and 70 cents higher than one year ago.
- The national average on Wednesday was $3.66, up 12 cents from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa were up 7 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.82.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $2.94 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is 22 cents less than the national average of $4.04.
- Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.78 for U87-E10, $3.09 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $3.14 for ULSD#2, $3.34 for ULSD#1, and $2.62 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating Fuels
- Propane prices were up $.05 with a statewide average of $2.03 per gallon.
- Home heating oil prices rose $.24, with a statewide average of $3.39 per gallon.
- Natural gas prices fell $.02 at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $4.77/MMbtu.
