BOONE, Iowa—Last week, Boone Public Works announced that the intersection of South Linn and Union Streets would be closed indefinitely for removal and replacement. The lengthy of that closure will be dependent on the weather. Major’s Concrete is the contractor for the project with a bid of just under $116,000 approved by the City Council earlier this month.

Utility work has led to the most recent closures. 215 West 8th Street is closed this week for water utility installation for the Boone School District’s new Futures and Home School Assistance building project between West 8th and West 9th Streets.

The most recent road closure is the 200 Block of South Boone Street where a sewer repair project is underway.
