BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Engineer’s Office has released a proposed schedule for the closing of Union Pacific Railroad crossings in Boone County for next weekend. Engineer Scott Kruse released this information today:
The Union Pacific Railroad requested to close some of their crossings near Ogden and Boone starting late next week. As of now They are planning to start at 11pm on the 14th and we’ll be working until 5am on the 16th. Road Safe is doing the traffic control. It appears they are starting at the crossing on E Avenue and moving east across the county. They are going to close 2 to 3 crossings at a time for approximately 5 hours at a time. This includes the crossings in Boone and Ogden as well. I put a list below Road Safe staff is supposed to be contacting emergency services as they open and close the crossings.
