BOONE, Iowa—Each year, three local scholarships are presented exclusively to senior members of the Boone A&M FFA Chapter at Boone High School.  On Wednesday, May 18, 2022, the following were presented during the Boone High School Awards Night:

The LR Tungesvik Ag Scholarship was presented to senior FFA member Bria Schwind. This $3,000 scholarship is new for 2022 and will be presented annually in memory of Loren Tungesvik and his passion for farming. Schwind will be attending DMACC this fall pursuing a career as a veterinarian.

The Josh Dakin Memorial Scholarship was presented to senior FFA member Megan Stern.  This $500 scholarship is given annually by the Dakin family to honor the legacy of former FFA member Josh Dakin who passed away in 2001. Stern will be attending Ellsworth Community College this fall pursuing a career in equine science.

The Boone County Chamber of Commerce FFA Scholarships were presented to Megan Stern and Bria Schwind.  Both scholarships are funded with proceeds from the Chamber’s Ag Omelet Breakfast events.
