BOONE, Iowa—As a public water supply, the Boone City Water Works is required to conduct certain testing throughout the year to insure the users of the water supply that they have safe drinking water. The testing is required by the Environmental Protection Agency. The Consumer Confidence Report for 2022 has been released by the City Water Works and once again has shown no violations from the previous year. The report is available on the Boone City website.

The testing and data collected covers the operation during the 2021 calendar year and city officials noted that Water Works staff were able to maintain the safety of the water supply during a full year of drought conditions.
