Lyle Flynn was born September 1, 1929, in Ord, Nebraska, the youngest of 10 children of Frank and Ina (Ramsey) Flynn. He attended school in Ord and graduated from Ord High School.

Lyle was a big supporter on 4H. He enjoyed going to the Boone County Fair to see his children and then grandchildren showing their 4H projects.

Lyle is survived by his large family, daughter Kathy (Bob) Williams of Boone; son Bob (Mary) Flynn of Boone; Dena Flynn of Ames; and Patty Flynn of Stratford; 10 grandchildren, Mike (Shari) Williams, Chris Williams, Matt (Erika) Flynn, Kelly (Amie) Williams, John (Jeannette) Flynn, Ann (Kane) Soenen, Shayna (Hans) Gulstrand, Katie Barrett, Cale (Lauren) Swanson and Dan Flynn; 15 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
