City of Ogden and Ogden Legacy Award $60,000 in Housing Grants

KWBG 06/08/22

OGDEN, Iowa—In March, the City of Ogden and Ogden Legacy announced that they were again partnering to provide homeowners the opportunity to apply for matching funds to make exterior improvements to their Ogden residences. In addition to funding for exterior work, the City and Ogden Legacy were successful in their efforts to obtain $30,000 in grant funds from the Central Iowa Housing Trust Fund to support larger improvement projects for Ogden homeowners that qualified.

In May, grants totaling $60,000 were awarded, resulting in 25 Ogden homeowners receiving funds. “This is the seventh year that we have made awards in our community to support home improvement projects,” says Matt Van Sickle, Chairperson for the Ogden Housing Committee. “Over that time our grant funds have leveraged more than $500,000 in additional homeowner investments in housing improvements.”

The total value of this year’s housing improvements is $204,083.90. The $60,000 in grant awards will be matched with $144,083,90 of Ogden homeowner funds to make these improvements happen. Homeowners receiving funds have until the middle of December this year to complete their projects and submit final documentation to receive their grant funding.
