DES MOINES, Iowa—The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship has released the weekly fuel report and the price of regular unleaded gasoline fell 4 cents, averaging $4.58 across Iowa according to AAA.
Crude Oil Summary- The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $17.36 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $95.59.
- Brent crude oil fell $20.32 and currently priced at $99.09.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $73.37 and Brent crude was at $75.81.
Motor Fuels
- As of Wednesday, July 6, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $4.58 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices fell 4 cents from last week’s price and $1.64 higher than one year ago.
- The national average on Wednesday was $4.78, down 9 cents from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa were down 6 cents this week with a statewide average of $5.36.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.13 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is 36 cents less than the national average of $5.72.
- Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $3.28 for U87-E10, $3.82 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $3.94 for ULSD#2, $4.16 for ULSD#1, and $2.99 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating Fuels
- Natural gas prices fell 97 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $5.53/MMbtu.
- Continuing throughout the summer months, we will only report retail heating oil and propane prices in Iowa once a month.
