DES MOINES, Iowa—The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship has released the weekly fuel report and the price of regular unleaded gasoline fell 12 cents, averaging $4.46 across Iowa according to AAA.
Crude Oil Summary- The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $.80 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $96.39.
- Brent crude oil rose $.64 and currently priced at $99.73.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $75.25 and Brent crude was at $77.50.
Motor Fuels
- As of Wednesday, July 13, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $4.46 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices fell 12 cents from last week’s price and $1.48 higher than one year ago.
- The national average on Wednesday was $4.63, down 15 cents from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa were down 9 cents this week with a statewide average of $5.27.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.11 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is 34 cents less than the national average of $5.61.
- Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $3.13 for U87-E10, $3.64 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $4.16 for ULSD#2, $4.39 for ULSD#1, and $2.91 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating Fuels
- Natural gas prices rose $1.18 at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $6.71/MMbtu.
- Continuing throughout the summer months, we will only report retail heating oil and propane prices in Iowa once a month.
