BOONE, Iowa—Darlene Ann (Fangman) Mosman, age 89 of Boone, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.
Darlene was born on December 3, 1932 in Alta, IA, the daughter of Lawrence and Teckla (Ricken) Fangman. She graduated from St. Angela’s Academy in Carroll in the class of 1951.
Darlene was united in marriage with Rolland Mosman. From this union were six children, Victoria, James, Lynn, Mark, Kristine Ann and Shari. Darlene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker, always keeping busy and serving others.
Darlene was a member of the Sacred Heart Church. Faith and Family were the most important things in Darlene’s life. She had served on the Parish Council, was a lifetime member of the Altar Society, and enjoyed catching up with friends as she worked the Annual Church Bazaar.
In earlier years, Darlene was on Royal Bowling League for 50 years, winning a state title in the ‘80s and loved roller-skating. She enjoyed being outdoors, especially mowing her yard and keeping it in tiptop shape. Darlene loved sports. Grandma Dar (as the grandkids called her) would be on the top bleacher at every activity. She enjoyed years spending time with her kids and grandkids during vacations at the lake house in Minnesota.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter Victoria Lynn; sister Joyce Bohling; and brother Eldon Fangman.
She is survived by sons, James (Linda) Mosman of Boone and Mark Mosman of Montgomery, AL; daughters, Lynn Mosman (Kevin Kallandsrud) of Tacoma, WA, Kris Ann (Michael) Hickle and Shari (Mike) Anderson, both of Boone; grandchildren, Brandon (Cindy) Hickle, Ashley (Sam) Swalwell, Alex Anderson, Lily Mosman and Danny (Gabrielle) Anderson; great grandchildren, Amira, Brighton and Cora Swalwell; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Boone, with a Rosary at 10:30 A.M. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
