June Eckhart

BOONE, Iowa—June Arlene (Allen) Eckhart, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Accura HealthCare of Ogden.

June was born on June 27, 1926 on the family farm in Guthrie County, the daughter of Ode and Mary (Van Cleve) Allen. She graduated from Bayard High School.

June was united in marriage with Emery Lawrence Eckhart on April 14, 1947 in Missouri. She was a homemaker, raising two children and keeping the acreage in check while Emery was trucking. Emery passed away in 2000.

June was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. June and Emery were avid race fans at the Boone Speedway, receiving a plaque one year to acknowledge the dedicated fans they were.

June was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Fern Allen, Lorna (Delbert “Hap) Palmer, Doris (Charles) Corsaut and Shirley Price.

She is survived by her daughter, Louise Carlson of Boone; son, Larry (Melanie) Eckhart of Gulf Breeze, FL; grandchildren, Megan (Gabe) Fiscus and Caleb (Sarah) Hockett; great grandchildren, Avery and Easton Fiscus; and brother, Keith (Sharon) Allen of Arizona.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Boone Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to June’s Family.

Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets is in charge of arrangements.
